Probably true in some cases Jim - but I don't always want the sequence number to match the row number. I have a workaround - but the bigger question was why did it work for years and just suddenly stop.

Much to my surprise the answer appears to be because of a change in ACS. IBM are looking into it to see how much potential impact there may be beyond what we've experienced. After all if an IBM change can cause this to break what else my be broken?

Jon,

I'm just curious about the usage of a SEQUENCE object. A SEQUENCE object is a just a Data Area object which holds the sequence value.

I would think this expression would be the same: Right(Digits(Row_Number() Over()),2) As Team

Read this if you use Run SQL Scripts _AND_ use the save results facility!

The problem described in my previous posting appears to be caused by selecting the ACS option to save results!

If I deselect that option the SQL works perfectly as it has always done. With the option selected the generated sequence values are wrong. I have no idea what other potential problems can be caused by this - just beware!

Right now I'm using the dBeaver plugin for RDi instead of ACS and it is working as expected.
