Where I work we've been dealing with some performance issues. At times
we've been pegging our our disk busy %, most often with the largest
contributor being page faulting. We're about to add more memory, and more
disks since we're tight on disk space on our production LPAR.

I just started learning about parity optimization settings earlier today.
We're running a host and three guest LPARs on an 8286-41A box. We have
twelve internal disks and are about to fill the remaining six empty drive
bays with identical disks. I discovered that our existing twelve disks are
configured in a single RAID 5 parity set with parity optimized for capacity,
and no hot spare. Can parity optimization be changed to performance on the
above array, or would the disks have to be split up into multiple RAID
arrays to do that?
