It doesn't appear that the SMTP server on one of our IBM i LPARs is
retrying
to send messages after encountering temporary errors. We had a firewall
hardware failure Friday night. So outgoing e-mails were getting server not
responding errors. Being temporary errors, the messages should have been
queued for retry, but don't appear to have been. Test e-mails I tried to
send to myself just shortly before connectivity to our mail relay was
restored were never received. I have the retries by minute and retries by
hour SMTP attributes both set to the maximum. Is the QSMTPQ queues under
the DST queues where I should be checking for queued e-mail? This is on OS
version 7.2.
