Subject: Linux on P7?

I have a P7 8286-41A sitting idle, off maintenance, and I had an idle
thought: Could I put Linux on it? I searched the archives, and there
aren't many Linux on Power results to be found. The internet doesn't
seem too helpful either so I'm guessing that I don't know the magic
search keywords.

Does someone have a canonical reference?
