Some years ago, Ted Holt had the idea, in an ITJungle article, of using
REGEX in order to trim unwanted blanks in a .CSV file. His solution was
something like:
sed -e 's# *",#",#g' -e 's# *,#,#g' original_csv.csv > trimmed_file.CSV
