Re: Forms Problem on InkJet

Is this a new app or an existing one with a new problem.  Most inkjet printers are too stupid to be controlled from the IBM i.  They depend on the brains of a Windows (or other) driver to do the heavy lifting. It is interesting that they are getting the ?correct? message on the printer though.

I am having an issue with check forms on an HP Inkjet printer. 

 

The form length is defined in the program, via an L-spec, to be 42 lines
with overflow on line 40.

 

If we run the test using stock paper (8.5x11), no problem.

But, if we use probably sized forms, we are getting a blank sheet
intermittently.

 

I'm not actually in the office where the printer is located, but the on-site
admin., who is very good, tells me that she is getting a message on the
printer that says "Improperly sized forms" when we use the 42 lines test
forms, but not when we use the stock paper.  So, I'm guessing that this is
somehow a printer issue; perhaps a combination printer-program issue.

 

I'm going to the office next week, but thought that, perhaps, some of you
may have had a similar experience and/or guesses what I can look for.
