The max size limit is in CHGSMTPA

Maximum e-mail message size . . MAXEMMSIZE *DFT

If it works on one system and not the other, I'd double check the mail
router and forwarding hub server settings. Ping them on each machine to
make sure they're the same (and no host table entries for them).

Then go to the admin of that mail router and see if they can even spot the
email coming it. I've seen a lot of systems can block not only by message
size, but my the IP of the system sending the email too. Sort of like
whitelisting. Well, it is whitelisting. :)

If worse comes to worse I always offer to assist using MAILTOOL Plus for
free. You can get a nice trace from the SMTP server to see if there's
something there.

You can trace with IBM SMTP too, but it's not very fun or easy to read.
And they don't include all the info.

When you say "fail", do you mean everything goes find but it never
arrives
at the recipient?

Exactly, Bradley.

I'm sending to myself. If I send myself a message, it arrives. If I attach
anything substantial, no show.

I just tried with one single attachment, 1206 bytes. 170K, no good.

Works fine on LPAR A. Same box, LPAR B, messages never show up at
destination if there's the same attachment.

Evan -

CHGSMTPA for a maximum attachment size.

Doesn't seem to be any setting for max attachment size.
