I don't remember ever seeing *a* recommended site for use with this
list. I know Buck has posted a bunch of usable choices, but nothing
approaching a single consensus "preferred choice" among the
subscribers of the midrange lists, never mind an actual endorsement
from David.
Imgur happens to be the most popular image-sharing site, in the same
sense that Windows is the most popular desktop operating system.
I haven't used any myself, but in my (brief) research, I became kind
of partial to Postimage:

The reason I would try that one first is that it (1) seems to not
require signing up, (2) doesn't seem to be laden with ads, and (3)
doesn't bombard you with images just for visiting their home page.
(Imgur might meet those first two criteria as well, but it fails
massively on the third.)
