Just remember that the "from email address" can be spoofed. I once sent a
prank email to buddy of mine telling him that I was being investigated for
computer fraud and tampering and was suspected of international crimes and
it was recommended that he cease communications with me. The from email
address was "NSA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". He called me in a panic and asked me
what I did?

If there is a link in the email, verify that it takes you to some ibm.com
website.

seem to recall they have a different date system.

Every vaguely modern country which is a participant in international
commerce or international scientific/academic endeavors uses ISO, or some
rearrangement thereof (e.g. M/D/Y vs. D-M-Y, etc., where any differences
come down to formatting, not math). Especially when engaging
internationally. Where there are local alternative date systems (for
"internal" use), they won't be "eleven years (and change)" off. And they
wouldn't bother translating to the English month name if they didn't also
recalculate the day and year number as needed.
