I had a few bad experiences.

1) When doing 8. Install program temporary fix package,
I did 2=Apply immediate, set delayed PTFs instead of 1=Set all PTFs delayed
Had all kinds of errors.
Opened a PMR.
IBM's response was never use Apply immediate for CUM and/or groups.
Apply immediate was designed and meant for single PTFs.

2) When migrating from P5 to P7, the P7 was not IPLing properly.
I needed a new re-spin for the P7.
That resolved the issue.

I do NOT want to experience that, Rob!

Arrgh. I'm certainly planning on applying a heap of stuff.

So ... TR first ... then cume ... then random stuff and pray it won't torture me with pre-reqs?

It's pretty scary. The IPL stops. You end up slipping the lic (with
a recent resave) and reloading cume and groups.

On the bright side, no, you don't have to hunt for some ptf which may
not have applied.
