I'd like to attend every session, but that's not really possible. So I'd love some help narrowing down the choices.
I last went to COMMON more than 20 years ago. I found two tremendous
benefits. One was hearing about the problems my brothers and sisters
were facing, and the other was learning about technology that I had no
idea even existed. I went to a mix of sessions where I was familiar and
wanted to get better, and sessions where I was on untrod soil.

Were I to go today, I'd almost certainly skew that mix to attend more
'unknown' sessions. I've been writing code in RPG for almost 40 years -
the value to my employer isn't in going from 99.9% RPG mastery to
99.95%; it's being able to lay more options on the table as the business
faces new situations. Even if I only scratch the surface of Node or
PHP, or whatever, I'll start to see the possibilities of applying this
new stuff to our business.
