Rob,

I asked that question years ago, never got/found the answer.

Our 7042-CR6 has 4gb.

After using putty to login into the HMC
monhmc -r mem
Mem: 4043216k total, 2924888k used, 119028k free, 563348k buffers

One of the reasons I am asking about the memory requirements on our
7042-CR8 (eight, not two) is that I just got off the phone with IBM call home because our system called home because of a low memory condition.
The usual recommendation to reboot it...

I am looking for the system requirements for our 7042-CR2 HMC's to manage
both Power 8 and Power 9 servers.
- What version of HMC is required?
- How much memory is required?

Finding the memory requirements is really tough. I found one document
with a comments section at the bottom but it says not to ask a question
there but to beg and grovel to be admitted to the PowerVM LinkedIn group
to get your question answered there. I am waiting on approval there...
