I remember the day when the cleaning lady pulled the big red emergency off switch on the S/38, brought the machine to a halt, and IBM had to be called to re-activate the system.

Also on the AS/400 D50, the switches on the front had no covers, someone accidently hit a switch, brought the system down.
We then bought switch covers.

We shan't talk about the time I was walking behind the equipment rack and tripped over a cable. I unplugged at least half of the network! I confessed within seconds to the network guys in the next room who had noticed.

Subject: Lost IP connection to 41A

I was messing around straightening up some cables. I unplugged the 2 cat 5 cables from the back of my 41A

I plugged them back in (the first two on p1-c10, one has the green arrow above it lit) and can't seem to get connectivity back to them now.

I can't get a LAN console either as that IP address isn't responding now either to pings or anything.

I tried an IPL from the panel, no dice.

Any ideas? Thanks!
