Hello list, this is my first post :)

I am an end user of an iSeries at work and a hobbyist programmer at home.
I decided to buy an AS/400 on eBay and get some experience working the
system from an administrator perspective, as well as trying out programming
in this system.

Unfortunately the system I received, a 9406-170, is configured for a
twinaxial console. I do not have one. Is there a way to switch this to a
LAN console instead using the control panel on the front of the machine?
Or at least a serial cable connection?

I am familiar with connecting to the iSeries with the iAccess 5250
emulator...this is what I use at work...but I do not know how to get this
going on the machine I have at home. I tried plugging it into my network,
but as far as I can tell it is not pulling an IP address.

Is there any hope outside of sourcing a twinaxial console? Any guidance is
appreciated. Thank you.
