Most VTLs that are locally attached will outrun local physical tape and
perform very well.

I've not looked at the time to save on the cloud systems, transmittal
portion. DeDup is massive in saving time in the transmission.

Do you have some time trials? Like, perhaps these customers have some
before/after like physical media vs cloud.

We're using a VTL locally, which replicates offsite. I've done full brms
unload/reloads and those have worked quite well.

Haven't really timed it to see how long the replication takes. But that is
probably affected by things the EMC-DD2500 does like dedup, etc.
We replaced FC LTO4's with it and I have no complaints.
