The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

I prefer not to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to.
The PF is used by several different programs during this process, and is appended to an archive PF at the end, so I don't see eliminating it as practical.

And that's a bad thing?
Never been a real big fan of CPYxxSTMF and especially CPYxxIMPF.
As long as you're doing that you might as well bypass the flat file and go directly into the end product. Basically cut your I/O's in half, reduce temporary storage consumption, etc. And not be at the mercy of IBM mucking with those commands at every upgrade.
