RE: Running .Net Natively on IBMi

The whole discussion of "native or not" is really missing the point of the
original post, although maybe an interesting exercise in architectural
discussion.

What I'm interested in is simple, provide developers with the best of breed
development environments so they chose the IBM i /POWER combination to
develop applications. Microsoft has created one of the best of breed
development environments and there are a massive number of developers using
it. If we can get them interested in using the server/database combination
it's good for everyone. That can not happen unless a port over to the IBM i
/POWER platform is accomplished.

Perhaps it is a distraction. It's hard to tell given the title "Running .Net
Natively on IBMi". Add to that a litany of glib one-liners, and in some
cases one-worders (i.e. Moo...), the purpose of the discussion is muddled,
at least to me.

What is the purpose of the discussion? Whatever it is, it seems to me that
it would be better off with a new title. I know I'm not the only one who
uses the term "native" to distinguish between the IBM i virtual machine vs.
PASE, and the language environments that run in the IBM i virtual machine
vs. those that run in PASE.
