Your IFS save times are irrelevant. Meaningless.
What Jim is talking about actually using it as a file share. We tried,
this and tried this and tried this. Windows simply wins. On earlier
models which still supported IPCS cards, you could take the same disks and
what not and try opening up Excel and other files and the files served by
the IPCS card were always faster than those served directly with IBM i.
Always.
IBM went to great lengths to improve this with newer releases but it still
lags.
