And I also have the follow up book by Dr. Frank Soltis, Fortress Rochester - The Inside Story of the IBM iSeries. For some reason, Amazon apparently has access to one person with the book, which I have, and is selling it used for $2,796.00. Anyone understand this????

Thanks, Larry

I have the first book, that by luck I managed to pick up at just over
its cover price, and very luckily our Library (in the uk) managed to
source a copy from a library in the states on loan just before funding
cuts put paid to inter-country book loans. Annoyingly by the time it
arrived it was time for it to go back, so I only managed to have it for
three days so had to speed read it which was really frustrating. I'd
love to have a copy of the follow up to go with the first, but 2K... sod
that! Even the lower prices I've seen, circa 300-400 ages ago, are just
stupid for a - relatively - low interest niche technical book.

If you folks are talking about the book "Inside the AS400" by Frank G. Soltis it was published by Duke Press.
I actually got my copy when I was invited to Rochester for a three day visit with IBM by my IBM rep.
Back in the days when we had IBM reps that actually came by to visit and see what you were doing.

I think it was a different company, not IBM that published it. I can't put my hand on my copy at the moment but wasn't it Midrange Press?
