Had a boss at a previous employer who wanted to know why we didn't use the same tape every day. Good grief. Ok then, why not just use two... switch every other day? Good grief.

Used the same one tape for every nightly backup? Good grief!

Back in my consulting life it was amazing that the time most often that a
system died was during backup. So, if you didn't rotate media, you were
toast.

Agree,
i currently work on a customers system which crashed. And they did not
change the DAT160 tape for daily backup for years :-/

Soon as you pick and acquire, DUP all your DAT160 tapes to the new
format. Do It Now. Trusting the DAT160 is bad and it will not work on any
new system so get those tapes migrated.
