Rob:
Likely true, but DSPPTF is the better choice for finding the dependencies
and superseded PTFs.
Again, we are talking about such a small number of PTFs that I'm not sure
it's worth the effort.

Correct me if I'm wrong but...
If you knew SI12345 fixed QCMD.PGM,
and you did a
DSPOBJD OBJ(QCMD) OBJTYPE(*PGM) DETAIL(*SERVICE) and noticed
Licensed program . . . . . . . . . . : 5770SS1 V7R1M0
PTF number . . . . . . . . . . . . . : SI54321
Then wouldn't this imply that SI12345 was superceeded by SI54321? Much like
DSPPTF would tell you pretty much the same thing?
And, unless you got your "special" ptf recently, wouldn't that get
overwritten?

Mostly that's true, but then again, the list is built by humans with
electronic support.
99.999% of the time it's of no mind. In the last 15 years I've only had 1
or 2 PTFs that were in the category of gotta bring them in, and those were
very specific to the customer situation. We knew about them ahead of
time
since we spent many hours working with IBM support guys getting them to
work.

I thought they used to flag it as part of the base on that cross reference
but I didn't some (with just a quick glance).
