yeah, we look at it as we just did the whole save of the guest, from the
guest. Which generally has a lot of advantages, such as the ability to
granularly restore individual objects if needed. So why waste the time
saving it again as part of the host?
Here, outside of the storage spaces, the amount of space used up on the
host is minimal.

Both saves were done to a Data Domain 2500 VTL with four drives in
parallel. Fiber channel attached.

Saved with storage spaces:
9/18/17 19:04:44 Begin processing for control group VKDTFULL type *BKU.
9/19/17 2:58:13 Control group VKDTFULL type *BKU processing is
complete.
Twelve tapes.

Saved without storage spaces:
9/14/17 11:49:19 Begin processing for control group VKDTFULL type *BKU.
9/14/17 11:59:09 Control group VKDTFULL type *BKU processing is
complete.
Four tapes, Most data on a "tape" is 3.62% of a 1500GB volume.

10 minutes vs 6 hours.
