If all lines in the CSV file are not identical then utilities like
CPYFRMIMPF are out.
If you have disk space, time and processor to waste then you could use
CPYFRMSTMF to convert it to a flat file in Db2 and then process that.
Otherwise I would stick to using IFS APIs (such as those documented by
Scott Klement). You will find that these:
- Perform better than utilities such as CPYFRMIMPF
- Give you more granularity of control in processing exceptions. For
example, a 16 character item number comes in but your ERP package only
allows 15 characters then you can handle that exception.
