Actually it was a midrange archive item by Rob Berendt back on Mon, 6 Feb
2012 09:48:00 -0500. His post had a rather interesting *YES following the
format name and as I knew that couldn't be the program number, program
name, etc I figured it must be for THDSAFE and recalled that the
documentation did indicate the program must be threadsafe. I tried it and
away we went :)

Bruce, thank you, thank you...did you discover that by trial and error or
did you find that documented somewhere?

When adding the exit point program make sure you specify THDSAFE(*YES). I
successfully added an exit point program using your PGMDTA and it was
added
just fine.

Hi Nathan, I've looked over that link. It references the same error
message CPF3CE5 but I don't think it's relevant to my issue. I'm trying
to
add a new exit program to the exit point QIBM_QP0L_SCAN_CLOSE or
QIBM_QP0L_SCAN_OPEN. There are no existing programs defined under those
exit points.

The IBM i support link that follows has some useful information:

IBM credentials are required in order to access it.

I'm trying to add an exit program to this exit point. I've tried this

using the ADDEXITPGM CL command and also with the API QUSADDEP. I keep
getting CPF3CE5 "Exit point...will not allow exit program to be
added". I
know that for this API I need to provide exit program data for the scan
key
and signture and so for parameter 5 I'm passing a structure that has
this
format:

"QSECOFR___ARP1________________ARP1111111__" (the underscore is a
space).
I'm passing a length of 42 for parm 6. Any ideas where I'm going
wrong? I
have *ALLOBJ authority and I've used QUSADDEP to add exit programs to
different exit points so the problem seems related to this exit point.

Thanks,

Tim
