IBM Lab Services has a product called Full System Flash Copy toolkit, which will automate the process of quiesce the LPAR. Taking the flash copy, mounting the flash on a temp LPAR, runs the backup from the temp LPAR and then powers off the temp LPAR and stops the flash copy.

Subject: Where do I learn about SAN backup?
I'm hearing that SAN storage allows us to do a very fast "snapshot" of
the system and then backup from that snapshot. It's supposed to make
the backup less intrusive. Is anyone doing something like this?
Thanks in advance!
