1. Have a hefty Power 7 that will become off site HA.
2. Our current Investment in LTO 5 tapes.
3.. Used as a secondary backup tape

Why would you?

Get an LTO-7 for the Power 8, it will read LTO-5 tapes just fine.

LTO-7 is twice as fast and hold 4 times more than LTO-5.
