If you haven't tried this, when you get a message - __any__ message, put your cursor on it and press F1, to get help on that message - there is almost always much more information - that's where the people on this list get what they know.

And after you have the help displayed, you should then press F10, to see the job log - there will often be __other__ messages that explain what happened more.

In addition, people on this list will press F1 when you prompt a command - if you are on a parameter in the F4 prompt, you will get information about that parameter - so you would probably see the information below if you prompt the USRPRF parameter.

This list __is__ fantastic - I've learned so much in the more than 20 years that I've subscribed.

And one of the things to learn is how to help ourselves. There is a proverb that goes something like this - if you give a hungry man a fish, you feed him today, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him the rest of his life.

So it is always OK to ask questions here - and I hope we can help each other learn how to find information in IBM's marvelous system documentations.

Best regards
Vern

The error is telling you that you have input some bad conditions (other
than the *ALL). From the IBM documentation: "The user name can be specified
as USRPRF(*ALL) or USRPRF(generic-name) only when TYPE(*BASIC) and
OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) are specified."

Type DSPUSRPRF, but instead of Enter, press F4. Now you should should have
a chance to specify the TYPE and OUTPUT parameters.
