But it's more like "probably doing something wrong".

And the motto isn't to push you toward RPG RLA. Instead, it's to push you
to moving the logic to the SQL statement.

It's not written in stone, just something to get you to stop and think.

Processing one record at a time via a cursor should be your last resort;
you're losing many of the benefits of SQL.

And as an FYI, taking the IBM SQL Performance workshop this week. The
instructor likes the motto. ;)
