IBM did send out announcement letters. I received announcement letter
after announcement letter. Was it sent in a snail mail letter? No.
Would it have made any difference to many of the same people who haven't
upgraded? Probably not. They would have continued to ignore it until
shut down by the financial institutions (like your customers mentioned).
It's the old "It if ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality.
Which is like ignoring the fact that your fuel gauge says E.
So they put in a different low fuel light. But you've ignored that.
So they put in a low fuel alarm. But you've ignored that.
So now you're pulling over to the side of the road as the engine is
gagging.
Try to ignore that...
