And that I think is the issue. Far too many shops just turn off the light, close the door to the data center quietly and try to sneak away from any problems. This will work for 'a while' but eventually things like this come back to bite. Rather like a 'land mine' buried and forgotten until.....

Moving to Cloud or hiring a managed services vendor sounds expensive until you realize that you're not having these issues any longer and your developer can do what they are paid for: Develop!!
