When our P8 41A arrived 3 years ago it was jet engine style NOISY in did .
(The Operator sitting in an adjacent room had his door sound proofed
because of the racket)

We complained to IBM and eventually a CE arrived with a FW updated that
silenced the 747 (or was it 737 ?)
it turned out that the FW read a faulty value from the newly
add temperature sensor.

I'm getting ready to install a new 41A in a tower configuration here and
I'm planning its location in the office. My older E4A is very noisy,
so I
have it in a back room. Can I expect the 41A to be just as noisy?

Nope. Significantly more noisy. The fan runs at a higher speed and
creates
about the most annoying sound there is.

My personal P8 playground is in the basement of the house (Agile's
technology center is in a Class A datacenter) and my wife has announced
that
it's moving or she is. You can hear it on the second floor. Construction
on the "Garage" (AKA outside building for all my toys with power/air
handling/etc. starts in a week)
