And, you REALLY don't want to stop at 7.1 if cipher suites are a concern
to you. Many of the 7.1 ones are obsolete and the newer ones cannot be
added until you upgrade to 7.2 and beyond. This has been a huge bone of
contention to 7.1 users who feel that upgraded cipher suites are a "fix"
and not an upgrade and thus they should be entitled to them.
This is not going to happen. No way, no how. 7.2 MTU lists a change in
the OS which allows them to add the newer cipher suites.

This should be a sticky somewhere. I've had many customers purchased
"new" machines with V7R1 lately only to find this out and they're up a
creek. Of course they get frustrated at IBM... I sort of understand
why but sometimes saving a few bucks ends up costing more in the long
run.

Whenever a customer contacts me about hardware upgrade now, if they
mention V7R1 I do all I can to try and change their mind and go to at
least V7R2.

With more IBM i users finding out how great their machines are for web
serving and web service consuming and start implementing these things,
this can really end up biting you in the rear.
