I always just escape the single quote. Have you tried loading the command text into a variable? Sometimes that helps me find my mistake.

Subject: Embedded apostrophe in command parameters

I have an RPG program calling QCMDEXC with an embedded apostrophe in a command parameter. And QCMDEXC doesn't like the embedded apostrophe.

And if I call the same command, with the same parameter, from a command line, I have the same problem. I've tried escaping the apostrophe RPG style by doubling it, and I've tried escaping it *nix/C style, by prepending a backslash.

Is there a way to get the command processor to accept an embedded apostrophe within a parampeter?
