up is that they are such special jobs that they were submitted with CALL
and the program name prefixed by QSYS. I've never seen that before --
though I know that is a method some use to prevent interference by

That is initially what I was focusing on. If they were an autostart job
then the subsystem would be active.

And, based on the above it's not like it would have put them on a single
string job queue and ended the subsystem prior to the jobs starting.

And these jobs have been around long enough (02/05/17) that QAUDJRN and
DSPLOG don't go back that far. That was prior to our last IPL, so looking
at the joblog of some current system job or subsystem job is out.
