We are a college but this is not for students to use. Employees on campus who we would prefer to have using our web site (IBM I based) but there are a few options we have not convert yet that they need occasionally (once every three months) so we don’t put client access on their computers. We also have a few employees who need 5250 access from home for apps that we have no intention on converting to browser anytime soon (and they are OK with that) so out solution to both of these is a browser based 5250 emulator. The one we do use is Active X based to restricts browser choice and leaves out anyone with a MAC but Active X based was the only option we could find when we made that choice.

The OP is an educational institution. Maybe that has some bearing on it.
Students don't like to lug thin consoles around with them. Or remote into them

I may have missed this, but why would you want to use a web terminal over a thin client?

I would love it if we could hone a project like web5250 to be more
robust.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a web based, native to IBM i
os,
5250 emulator? Web based meaning it runs in a browser (more than
just IE), native means no Windows middleware server. We recently
turned off TLS

which broke what we were using (TinyTerm) and what we were using was
an
Active X based solution so not really the best for our needs. We

use MochaSoft but that also had issues and we had to more to TinyTerm.
I
found one that looks like it comes with Zend server for I and one
called
aXes from lansa that look like what we need. Does anyone have any
experience with either of these?
