Are the fonts on the converted PDF the same typeface and size as on the
printed one? There could be font substitution going on.

Otherwise, over the past few years when that has happened with my utilties
the only thing I could get from IBM was "the printer file is incorrect".
In other words, the printer is more forgiving with the settings than IBM is
when converting it to PDF (virtual printing).
