Larry,

That's what I'm seeing.
ADMIN2 job
Taking close to 100% of CPU.

I checked my MPG performance graphs.
Faulting in base pool.
CPU queing

For the production LPAR that's probably about right, actually.

The R&D seems a tad slow and the drives shouldn't be that big of a difference as it's not an I/O thing. It's mostly ADMIN2 cranking on JAVA. Do you see lots of faulting on that one in the pool the server runs (usually *BASE) ??

On mine I see 800 to 900% CPU much of the time while it starts and overall CPU is +++++. WRKSYSACT shows the ADMIN2 server over 40 times!
(40 threads)

On my lab system of course there's just me.

What sort of resources do you have? It ends in 13 seconds on my lab system and hits 0% CPU restating in about 3 minutes.

10 minutes to stop.
10 minutes to start.
Especially the ADMIN2 job.
Nothing else running on system.
All resources available for stop/start.

Thank You
