I was reracking a system yesterday. Consolidating two racks on to one. In
the process I shutdown one of my Power 8s. This Power 8 supports multiple
lpars. Several of IBM i, one of AIX and 2 of VIOS. I also shutdown my
HMC.
While this was down I got a call "from pSeries support". I've never owned
one of those in my life. Are there still some under IBM support?
It went without a hitch. I completely ripped off every cable: LAN, fiber
tape, expansion units to system units, power, all.
