Back in HMC 7.7.x we happen to see that one HMC with static addresses (even on the private HMC network) started to act as a DHCP server. Imagine what happens when connected to the normal company network ;-)

WIth IBMs HMC on ESXi there is no reason to have two HMCs in two networks...

Main issue is if the HMC to Power System link is broken, disrupted, etc you lose control. Murphy always makes that happen when you need it most.

If the networks are combined there are MANY more ways to introduce Mr Foo and Ms Bar to the network than if they are separate.
