I said it's enforced by the system, but the system does not stop the excess
users from signing on and continuing to work, it simply logs it.

Later IBM may choose (nor not) to do an audit of the software use on the
system. If they discover you purchased 10 users and you are consistently at
25 users or more, IBM might choose to send you a bill for the difference.

I have a customer that is set up for 5 users at this point. They actually
use way over 100. They are now correcting that licensing oversight by
purchasing the unlimited users for their new system. IBM is happy, the
customer is happy and life is good.

Maybe they can chomp the 5250 performance, but I don't see it anywhere else
being easily trackable.

Hopefully not the software governor again :-)

Here comes products like Gofast again if so..........

Harder to track a user with web apps, domino, websphere and such.

Same as with any other web environment.

Usually the apps do it, not the OS.

If you find that article send a link please.

Not quite. It is enforced by the system.

IBM i .

I would guess it's a paper license like a CAL with MS.
