We have two that are dedicated to our customer online transaction processing. They are mirrored to each other. They were old P05 - Power 5 520s that used less than 10% CPU. We just upgraded both to new Power 8 machines in the P05 for $25,000 USD each. Way more CPU than we needed. But we can more our WebSphere from Intel to these and save licensing cost on the WebSphere as it appears to be included on the boxes. We never have more than 3 people on them but we have 4 IIS servers, an IVR system, and a communication node that connect to deliver the transactions. Never a person connecting except our Operation department or Programming department for maintenance and updates. I must say that our transactions are sub second response unless we go out to a third party for verification which takes almost a second to get a response from an XML post via HTTPS.
