They did not even bother to ask the current version? That's rich...

Instead of just buffaloing my way through it and restarting everything I did
open a ticket with IBM.
A few websites later
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1018664
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1018878
and they have data to peruse.

It had sent a ticket off to hardware also. They wanted me to upgrade my
firmware to 840 something. Since I'm already running 860 something that
turned out to be a very short phone call...

Perhaps we're trying to squeak by with a tad too little CPU on our
smallest box.
Boss suggested I dynamically lpar 0.05 CPU from one lpar to another.
Not only did the operation time out but every lpar on the system is dead
and I'm showing "Incomplete" for all on the HMC and Manage Serviceable
Events is showing B182953C.
The hypervisor did not read messages from the service processor (or
system
controller) within the allotted time. Either the hypervisor is
unresponsive or the PSI links are down.

Opened up sev 1 system down ticket via the web and quickly called in.
After getting the usual inane questions like what business impact is
this
ticket really having ("I'm having to answer questions instead of doing
productive work") I'm now on hold listening to bad music and constant
reminders that I'm a fool for using a phone and I really should use
their
web site (not that they've called me back on that yet anyway...).

HMC
Version: 8
Release: 8.6.0
Service Pack: 0
MH01655

Firmware: FW860.11 (63)

Could you keep the list informed of the story, when you have time of
course, like you often do, please ?
