Ok. The host (and NFS serving partition) can ping an existing guest
partition.
It cannot ping this new guest.
I went into SST on the guest and
8. Work with service tools user IDs and Devices
...
oh crap, nevermind
I had two
Resource Serial
Name Type Model Number LOC Selected
CMN04 268C 002 00-00000 T1
CMN03 268C 002 00-00000 T1 *

And I kept selecting the wrong one. Now I have it.
Ping works.
