Why did I start device parity protection while in DST mode?

I had to go into DST mode to remove some drives and re-add them.
I should have only used DST mode to remove the drives. But, noooo, while
I'm here I'll start parity protection on them and add them into the new
ASP.
Did I mention they are five 1.7TB drives for a total of some really
serious space?
Did I mention that this is on a hosting lpar and while this is going on I
have four other lpars sitting casters up?
Luckily these are "expendable". Basically triple replicas of lpars hosted
on two other Power 8's.

Anyone remember an old SORBUS poster of some guy sitting at his desk with
