Got me. The IBM BP installed the new system and there is an HMC that we
don't use very much.

I use it for the system console. I figured I should have the virtual
control panel working as well before I upgrade one of the partitions.

Thanks, Art

We have an 8202-E4D. We can connect to the HMC via web browser, and we
can
start a system console for any of the partitions with IBM i ACS.

I'm trying to use the virtual control panel. When I click the advanced
button under HMC 5250 console. I'm asked for a user Id and then I guess
I'm
supposed to click Connect and Browse. It always says it can't connect.

Is there anything else I need to do, perhaps change the partition settings
in the HMC?

I am trying to get virtual control panel access before upgrading a
partition to V7R3

Thanks, Art
