*AUTOSTART did not work.

Additional research I did find this.
On an IPL, the ones set to Autostart NO do not attempt to start.
Only when calling the command STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ALL), do they all attempt to start.

Paul,

There may be a way to start only the autostart http instances - I've been reading a little bit, but have no play system to check it out - perhaps someone on the list can answer this

Does this work STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) INSTANCE(*AUTOSTART) ??

We are at V7R1, not sure where you are Paul. I would assume if no *Autostart instances exist this does nothing or fails..

Jim

Check your code for something like this:

STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(XYZ)

Is it starting when the QHTTPSVR subsystem started or after ipl (may be in your QTRUP job)

I have an HTTP instance that I changed autostart to NO The instance is still trying to start.
Is there another config file in another location telling this instance to start..

Thank You
