Normally the #jobs in the system seemed related to ended jobs with job logs
or other spools still existing. There are perhaps 15,000 spooled files from
various jobs.

What else could contribute to this number.
System is restarted once a qtr (full system backup).

You might have also tons of jobs in job queue or tons QPRTJOB jobs without any spool file.
