I always use QTEMP for aliases. I normally do not want them hanging around.

1) An ALIAS sticks around, Right?
CREATE ALIAs UPPENWORK/D001_A FOR UPPENWORK/D001STMTM1(DAC0008)
So you probably also would want do DROP ALIAs UPPENWORK/D001_A

2) What about using QTEMP so the alias goes away at end of job?
CREATE ALIAs QTEMP/D001_A FOR UPPENWORK/D001STMTM1(DAC0008)
