Re: Upgrade the HMC: is it possible remotely?

I've learned from you about 'shared sessions' when we were in Dallas at
the first mini COMMON (when it transitioned from being a regional to the
'fall' conference).
You came up to my room and helped me with lpar.
Then I would shut down my 'dedicated' session PC while formatting disk on
the partition...
multiple times...
Oh well, a lesson learned hard is a lesson learned well.
Talked the operator through starting a shared session on the HMC. A real
stretch for her comfort zone at the time.

Now, on every partition I go into STRSST
8. Work with service tools user IDs and Devices
3. Select console
Allow console recovery and console can be taken
over by another console . . . . . . . . . 1 1=Yes, 2=No

This way, you can even crash the HMC or dedicated session and get it back.
