Its tough not being a Java guy.

I changed the properties to the following:

ard.driver.AXTRN01=net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver
ard.properties.AXTRN01.additionalProps=AXTRN01
ard.url.AXTRN01=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://DAXDEVDB02-SQL2

ard.properties.AXTRN01.selectMethod=direct

It still has the same issues.

The system has Java 5.0 installed: 5722JV1 options *BASE, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10
and 11.

I assume when it runs that it selects the Java 5.0 JVM but do not know how
to check for that.

I submit the following job:

SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(JVAGATE/STRJVAGATE)) JOB(JVAGATE) JOBQ(QUSRNOMAX)

I believe the Java is throwing the following error and the batch job fails
as a result but I do not know why.

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
de/bender_dv/jvagate/communication/Receiver

Now, that said... I'll note that the MS driver quit working when
we applied PTFs to our system at some point. We have not identified the
problem.
</Dave>

... do you get any hints for the problem in the java log?

No, the request just times out.

Sincerely,

Dave Clark
